This is not a generic list of "crypto-friendly charities." Every organization listed here has been independently researched to verify their Bitcoin acceptance method, custody policy, and treasury status. We classify each organization into one of five categories based on publicly available evidence.

WHY THE HOLD VS. CONVERT DISTINCTION MATTERS
When you donate Bitcoin to a charity, two very different things can happen. The charity can convert your BTC to USD immediately using a payment processor, or they can hold it as a Bitcoin treasury reserve.
The distinction matters for donors who believe in Bitcoin's long-term value. If you donate 0.1 BTC to a charity that immediately converts, your donation is worth its USD value at the moment of conversion. If you donate to a confirmed holder, your Bitcoin continues to appreciate inside the organization's treasury, potentially multiplying the impact of your gift over time.
This directory is the only resource that systematically tracks and verifies which charities hold versus convert, giving donors the information they need to align their giving with their values.
